About the game

How many peppers, beetroots or lemons are pictured on the board? Count the fruit and vegetables carefully and find the right place for each task. This little chest invites children to make their first mathematical discoveries!

‘Chest of Drawers – Counting 1’ is a wooden game designed to introduce children to quantities and counting up to seven, featuring coloured boxes for sorting.

From one item to seven – every task completed correctly helps children become more confident with numbers.

In the set

• a small wooden chest with a pull-out drawer
• 7 strips featuring different numbers of fruit and vegetables
• 4 sorting boxes with coloured holes and pictures on both sides

How to play

1. Remove the slats.
2. The child counts the vegetables and fruit on each slat.
3. Sort the slats into the boxes by quantity or by colour.

Where to start

Start with sets containing 1–3 items. Move on to larger numbers gradually.

Game variations

• arrange the sticks from 1 to 7;
• ‘Which has more, which has less?’;
• name the vegetables and fruit;
• sort by colour.
